Prove that Romance Isn’t Dead with These Valentine’s Day Cocktails
Dragon Spirits Marketing loves wine for Valentine’s Day. In fact, wine comes in the traditional Valentine’s colors already- red, white, and pink. What should you do if the love of your life doesn’t want wine this year? Or if they want to save the wine for a different day? Or maybe you are getting a group of friends together over the next few weeks and want a Valentine’s themed cocktail to mix the evening up? We have several recipes to tantalize your taste buds, whether you are a group of friends or setting up a date filled with romance.
Blend one ounce of vodka, one ounce of raspberry liqueur, 1 ounce of Irish cream liqueur, a splash of grenadine, and ice together. Add a small amount of red food coloring to sugar and rim your favorite cocktail glass. Pour the blended drink into the glass and top with whipped cream and a sprinkle of red sugar. The sweet taste paired with the red and white colors will add a festive touch to your date.
Shake 1 ounce of vodka, 1/2 ounce of Crème de Cacao, and 1 ounce of cranberry juice with ice. Strain into a martini glass and serve. This drink is almost a rich spin on a Cosmopolitan if you are looking for a twist on your favorite.
Shake 3 ounces of gin, 1 ounce of vodka, and ½ an ounce of Lillet Blanc with ice. Strain into a champagne saucer or martini glass and garnish with a lemon slice. This strong cocktail was inspired by the James Bond Casino Royale, making it a great drink to pair with a movie that may appeal to both parties.
Kiss on the Lips
Blend 1 ½ ounces of peach schnapps, 5 ounces of frozen mango, and 2 cups of crushed ice in spurts until smooth. Pour 1 tablespoon of grenadine into the bottom of a glass and swirl before topping with the drink. Garnish with a pineapple slice and cherry, and if you are getting mixed signals from your date, you can always ask if they want a kiss on the lips. Depending on their answer you can pretend you meant this drink instead.
Shake one ounce of dry gin, ½ ounce of orange liqueur, ½ ounce of apricot brandy, 2 ounces of passion fruit juice, and 2 ounces of pineapples juice with ice. Fill a champagne flute part way with crushed ice and top with beverage. Garnish with a cherry and decide if this drink is better for a girls’ night out or a date night in.
Stir 1 ½ ounces of whiskey, ½ ounce of dark rum, ½ ounce of anejo rum, and 1 teaspoon of white creme de cacao in a mixing glass with ice. Strain into a chilled glass and garnish with a cherry. This drink is delicious, complex, and enjoyed by men and women alike.
